The Kaduna State Urban Planning and Development Agency (KASUPDA) on Friday demolished houses built behind Zenith Bank along Yakubu Gowon Way in the state metropolis. Officials of the agency who supervised the demolition exercise declined information when asked the rationale behind the demolition. The aggrieved property owners have however threatened to take legal action against the agency; describing the demolition of their properties as illegal. Narrating his ordeal, Similarly, Chief Eze Aba explained, "We woke up this morning to see two bulldozers and KASUPDA hilux vehicle on our site, without telling us what they came for, they started demolition our properties. Although, we applied for building structure approval from KASUPDA since last year and we made all the necessary payment but up till now they have refused to issue the approval," he said.
