Don't wait on government for rural developments- Obasanjo

Former president, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, has advised Nigerians to unite to improve their respective rural communities, saying government alone cannot satisfy all the infrastructure needs of rural dwellers. Freedom of Information Act section 3 Says An application for access to a record or information under this Act shall be made in accordance with Section 1 of this Act, (2) For the purpose of this Act, any information or record applied for under this Act that does not exist in print but can by regulation be produced from a machine, normally used by the government or public institution shall be deemed to be record under the control of the government or public institution. Petrol to sell below N87/ltr by Jan- FG

‎ The minister of state for petreoleum resources Dr Emmanuel Ebe Kachikwu has said petrol will be sold below N87 per litre from January 2016. Speaking at Port Harcourt Refinery and Petrochemical this afternoon the minister said he has already approved the new template for petrol price and it will take off in January. Buhari to Nigerians don't lose hope

Arms deal: Dasuki get second bail another case pending.....

Former National Security Adviser (NSA) retired Col. Sambo Dasuki and five others have been granted bail in the second charge of diversion of funds before an FCT High Court. The bail bonds, which are worth N250 million for each, will be produced by two sureties for each of the accused persons, an aggregate of N3 billion. Ruling on the bail application yesterday, Justice Peter Affen ordered that the sureties must be retired or serving civil servants of not less than the rank of director. The judge said the sureties must have a property in the FCT valued at N250 million by surveyors, and must swear to an affidavit of means. The judge further ordered the accused persons to deposit their international passport with the court registrar. The judge warned against the re-arrest of the accused persons, adding that if there is need for further investigation, they should be invited by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) within the hours of 9am to 6pm and they must be allowed t...

Buhari declares free higher education

President Muhammadu Buhari has assured that there will be free eduction for science, technology and education students in tertiary institutions.  Buhari gave the assurance Tuesday while presenting the 2016 Appropriation Bill to a joint session of the National Assembly. Jose Mourinho Chelsea has sacked manager after premier league Slump

Chelsea have sacked manager Jose Mourinho seven months after he led them to the Premier League title. The 52-year-old Portuguese had been in his second spell at the club, taking charge in June 2013. Chelsea finished eight points clear last season and won the League Cup, but have lost nine of their 16 league games so far and are 16th in the table, one point above the relegation places. Mourinho's final match was Monday's 2-1 defeat at leaders Leicester City. Pep Guardiola, Guus Hiddink, Brendan Rodgers and Juande Ramos have all been touted as possible successors.

The leader of Shi’ite sect members in Kano state Muhammad Turi andthe sect’s national spokesman Ibrahim Usman have been confirmedkilled. They were shot dead in Zaria town in the ongoing clash betweenmilitary and members of the sect. Spokesperson of the sect in Kano, Ahmad Saqafa, confirmed the death of the two shi'ite members to DailyTrust. Buhari wants entrepreneurship studies in schools

President Muhammadu Buhari has said that the nation must promote and enhance teaching and learning of entrepreneurial skills in all schools. The president spoke yesterday at the 2nd convocation ceremony of the Kaduna State University where an honorary doctorate degree of letters was conferred on him. The theme of the convocation was “Entrepreneurship for Development.” Buhari assured that his government would support all efforts towards creating more jobs through the re-orientation of Nigerian youth towards an entrepreneurial mindset. He also stated that in view of the declining internally generated revenue and over-dependence on dwindling oil revenues, there was need to seek other ways of diversifying the economy in order to boost revenue.
