INTRODUCTION I want to thank the Coalition of Northern Groups (CNG) and the authorities of Bayero University for honouring me with the privilege to speak at a forum that holds much promise in keeping our youth focused and disciplined in the pursuit of edifying goals and living with values that define the Northern character. I particularly want to thank our father and leader, Professor Ango Abdullahi, Magajin Rafin Zazzau, the Convener of the Northern Elders Forum (NEF) for his inspiring presence at this event and untiring efforts to keep the flames of our dedication to the interests of the people of the North and Nigeria alive.
