The All Progressives Congress (APC) has told the newly appointed National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Ali Modu Sheriff, to include how his party and its cronies will return public funds allegedly stolen under the 16 years rule of the PDP in his master plan.
The APC National Secretary Mai Mala Buni threw the challenge yesterday, in a statement he issued in reaction to remarks made by Sheriff, on Wednesday in Umuahia, the Abia State capital, that the PDP would soon come out with its “master plan” on how to regain power in 2019.
The statement described Sherifff’s comments as idle and laughable, adding that it reminded the APC of the 16th century ‘English language proverb and nursery rhyme’ which states: “If wishes were horses, beggars would ride.”
It said while the APC was reluctant to join issues with “Sheriff’s idle 2019 postulations,” Nigerians were aware that the current economic hardship and institutional rot were caused by the PDP’s 16-year ‘misrule and pillage.
The statement wondered how, with the performance in office of President Muhammadu Buhari, the PDP expected Nigerians to abandon new ruling party’s “smooth sailing ship for a sinking and rudderless PDP ship, come 2019.”
It said: “The 2015 elections have been won and lost. The priority of the present APC administration is to deliver on election promises made by the party to Nigerians who long-desired change of political leadership at the federal level and in many states.

He was spotted at the EFFC office in company of a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Rickey Tarfa, at about 5:20pm. Akpabio’s arrest yesterday is fallout of the petition by an Abuja-based lawyer and activist, Leo Ekpenyong, who had on June 8 this year petitioned President Muhammadu Buhari and the EFCC, calling for Senator Akpabio’s probe and accusing him of looting. The petitioner had earlier on Wednesday adopted his petition and provided more details to the anti-graft agency on the allegations against the minority leader of People...
