The state governor, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, disclosed this when the Pakistani High Commissioner to Nigeria, Lt. Gen Agha Muhammad Umer Farooq, paid him a courtesy visit.
Tambuwal said Pakistan’s poverty eradication strategies and agricultural expansion programmes had lifted millions out of poverty. He said Sokoto government would tap from that knowledge to boost the relevant sectors.
The governor who noted that Pakistan had suffered years of attacks from terrorists, said with its experience in counter-insurgency measures, the country could help Nigeria tackle it’s security challenges.
The High Commissioner welcomed closer collaboration between the two governments in all areas.
