Jonathan administration's rot monumental-Oyegun

He stated this in Abuja on Wednesday while fielding questions from journalists during a press briefing at the party's national secretariat. Oyegun who was reacting to suggestion that the Obasanjo and Yar'adua administrations should be included in the probe argued that the kind of profligacy and corruption witnessed during Jonathan's administration was monumental compared to the previous administrations. He said that  president Buhari knew that he has four years to address the challenges brought about by corruption and impunity in the six years of the last administration.   The APC chairman added that the impunity has grown so much in the last six years that some people are not even afraid of stealing public funds.

Police arrests former Jigawa governor

The police in Kano on Sunday arrested the immediate past governor of Jigawa, Alhaji Sule Lamido. A reliable source told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Kano that Lamido was arrested for allegedly inciting his supporters to stop theconductofstate’supcominglocalcouncilpolls. NAN reports that the arrest of Lamido may be connected with a programme aired on one of the Kano local radio stations. Lamido was alleged to have directed his supporters, during the programme, to ensure thatthey win the local governments elections by all means. The former governor was said to have been arrested at his Sharada Kano residence in the early hours of Sunday by the Zonal Investigative Bureau unit of Zone One Command of the Nigeria Police in Kano.
